Tom Watkins (bass and baritone)

What hasn't Tom done? Where hasn't he been?

A native of San Jose, CA, Tom attended schools in Anchorage, Alaska. When a junior in high school he welcomed the invitation to sing with the University of Alaska Chorus. He sang light opera while completing his doctoral studies in the University of California, Berkeley. While a Fellow of Harvard University, he began singing regularly for churches and temples (later, in Wilmington, DE; New York, NY; and Memphis with St. John's). One year, quartet singing netted a scholarship which paid his college fees. He sang much renaissance a cappella literature with The Music Group of Philadelphia. Watkins' voice was heard weekly for several years as host of "Your Health Today," a food magazine aired on AM radio in metro New York. Two savory condiments on his musical plate were singing with the Tomsk Madrigal Septet in Siberia and pop with a band on the Greek Isle of Paros in the Aegean. Formerly, Director of the Jordan Cardiac Research Foundation in metro New York, Watkins now plies the woodworker's art in the mode of his Dad, making custom music systems and cabinetry for home, church or other auditoriums.
