Thomas "TeKay" King (tenor)

TeKay is our resident bon vivant. He has been hooked on a cappella music since high school, and has sung with the Tar Heel Voices at the University of North Carolina and with semi-pro groups The Accidentals [of North Carolina], Hearsay, and The Seven Deadly Bibs.

TeKay became one of the first "ambassadors" for CASA--the Contemporary A Cappella Society--back in the early '90s, was the Associate Editor of the Contemporary A Cappella News magazine for more than a decade and served as a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARAs) nominator and judge for years. He was the South Region Producer for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella for six years. Currently, TeKay is the Recruitment Coordinator for the Alliance of A Cappella Initiatives (AACI) which produces the highly respected SING compilation and the music festival SoJam. As well, he's a reviewer for the Recorded A Cappella Review Board.

Most important, though, is the work that TeKay does for ALSAC, the fundraising organization that supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
